Saturday
28th of April
On Saturday morning, we visited Cork's city center in groups. We were divided into five groups and each group was mentored by a teacher. As for us, our French teacher guided our group through the city (even if she was as lost as we were). During our walk, we saw St-Fin Barre's cathedral (photo opposite), St-Anne's cathedral Clarke's bridge, Cork vision center and the English market. We had lunch in a parc in Cork.
On the afternoon, we went to Kinsale in order to visit Fort Charles. A guide told us the history of the castle. Fort Charles was built from 1670 to 1681 on the ruins of an old castle known under the name of "Ringcurran Castle". It was named "Fort Charles" honoring Charles II, king of England. It was constructed to protect the castle and its surrounding areas.
At 7 PM we went back to our host families and had dinner with them for the last time. Unfortunately, we didn't take a picture with them.
